GOP supports big business
I have voted in the last 16 presidential elections and hope to vote in at least one more. With the exception of my three years in the Army, I have worked as a laborer, loading trucks and busting tires. Throughout that time, one thing remained constant: The Republicans favored Big Business and the Democrats favored the working man and woman. So we laborers were unsurprised when Reagan broke the air traffic controllers union and loosened worker and environmental protections. Reagan got elected in part by conning some of my co-workers into voting for him. But that Republican Party was a piker compared to the present one and their CONMANder in chief, President Trump. Behind the shiny objects he throws out almost daily, he is unsurprisingly doing everything possible to cater to big business and further enslave the working man. He and his fellow Republicans – including our Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers – do this by lowering taxes on the super rich, giving them every tax break possible and getting rid of the protections the Democrats have put in place to safeguard the working class and the environment.
The Spokesman-Review publishes the voting records of our local congressional representatives, and one only has to look there to see that the Republicans consistently vote for any proposal that supports big business over the working person, and against any effort by the Democrats to improve conditions for the working men and woman of America. Please pay attention and vote!
