Guerrilla gardening

Wear a pair of gloves when you take your walks and pull a few weeds along the street or in the park.

The summer staff for Spokane City Parks & Recreation is much reduced this year, so we have more weeds than usual. If you know anything about our local weed population, you can help keep our city garden areas beautiful. Walking beside the storm water gardens along South Lincoln and Monroe streets, for instance, will provide many such opportunities.

You might even carry along a bag to take your trophies home and start a neighborhood competition.
