Salvation Army needs volunteers to help ‘Rescue Christmas’

By Thomas Clouse The Spokesman-Review

The Salvation Army of Spokane needs volunteers, ages 18 and older, to help “Rescue Christmas,” according to a news release.

The program helps vulnerable families, many of whom have lost jobs as a result of shutdowns caused by COVID-19. Volunteers are needed to help move toys on Saturday; to help with Adopt-A-Family Gift Receiving from Dec. 14-15; for the Adopt-A-Family Gift Distribution on Dec. 17; and to help pack food boxes for the Food Bank during the week.

Those wanting to volunteer, should go to www.makingspokanebetter.org and click on ‘Volunteer with Us.’ Interested parties can also contact Joshua Schulz at Joshua.schulz@usw.salvationarmy.org or by calling him at (509) 329-2721.
