Coeur d’Alene-based Fatbeam sells majority stake to private investment firm

Coeur d’Alene-based Fatbeam recently sold a majority stake in the fiber internet service company to a private investment firm.

New York-based SDC Capital Partners paid $36 million to acquire half of Fatbeam, whose shareholders will continue to hold ownership in the company following closure of the transaction.

The investment provides Fatbeam with significant capital to expand services to California and other markets on the West Coast, said Kennidy Nimri, spokeswoman for Fatbeam.

Fatbeam provides fiber infrastructure services to education, health care, enterprise and government sectors in 40 markets across Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.
