The American Association of Airport Executives has appointed Spokane Airports CEO Larry Krauter as first vice chair of the executive committee and Director of Operations and Ryan Sheehan, Maintenance at Spokane International Airport, as a member of AAAE’s board of directors. AAAE is the world’s largest professional organization representing individuals who work at public-use commercial and general aviation airports.

Engineering

Thomas Holman has been promoted to associate principal at DCI Engineers’ Spokane office. While at the firm, he has managed a variety of industrial projects throughout Washington state.

ALLWEST has hired Dan Benson as area manager of the firm’s Spokane Valley office and promoted Todd DeMico from project engineer to engineering services manager and Cole Warrick from project geologist to materials testing services manager. Benson has more than 17 years of experience as a construction manager and previously worked as business manager for Interstate Concrete and Asphalt in Sandpoint. DeMico has more than eight years of experience in civil and geotechnical engineering construction projects. Warrick has more than 20 years of environmental, geotechnical and materials testing experience.

Law

Witherspoon Kelley has hired Laina Johnson as an attorney. Johnson is a recent graduate of University of Washington School of Law. Her practice will focus primarily on business and corporate, real estate and construction law.

Honors

More than 60 John L. Scott broker associates were ranked on REAL Trends’ annual America’s Best Real Estate Professionals List, including Eric Tucker, Peggy McCartney and Lisa Thome, all of the Spokane office, and Pam Fredrick of the Liberty Lake office. Tucker ranked No. 42 individuals by sides, McCartney ranked No. 68 individuals by sides, Thome ranked No. 100 individuals by sides and No. 78 individuals by volume, and Fredrick ranked No. 29 individuals by sides and No. 52 individuals by volume.

The Spokane Workforce Council has been presented with the 2020 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Trailblazer Award by the National Association of Workforce Boards. NAWB represents about 550 workforce development boards nationwide and recognizes only one local council for achieving excellence in the industry each year. It was presented to Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward and SWC Board Chair Dan Evans at The Forum 2020, NAWB’s annual conference that was delivered virtually this year.
