Propane gas leak prompts closure of Highway 2 in Mead early Sunday morning

Spokane County firefighters briefly closed Highway 2 in Mead early Sunday morning after a reported propane leak at a Conoco gas station.

The highway was reported closed just before 6 a.m. All lanes were blocked until the propane tank at the Conoco station, 14710 S., N. Newport Highway, could be turned off. The roadway opened an hour later, according to the Washington State Patrol.
