McKinstry considers site on the West Plains for $5 million industrial warehouse project
Seattle-based McKinstry Co. is planning to build an industrial warehouse on the West Plains, according to a preliminary application filed with the city.
John Lang, director of design services for McKinstry, filed the application for the $5 million project, which calls for a 67,500-square-foot industrial warehouse on 5 acres of vacant land near Flint Road and 21st Avenue in Airway Heights.
Lang did not respond to a request for comment.
Construction is anticipated to begin in June, according to site plans.
California-based Katerra is the project architect.
McKinstry, a construction and energy-efficiency contractor, has on office on Spokane Falls Blvd. in the University District. The company is also partnering with Avista Development Inc. to build the 150,000-square-foot Catalyst building in the U-District.
The structure will the first in the state built out of cross-laminated timber manufactured by Katerra, which has a mass timber factory in Spokane Valley.
