Call for artists

Spokane Public Library Public Arts Project – Spokane Arts is hosting open calls for several public art projects to be installed in conjunction with current Spokane Public Library projects, including a large overhead indoor art project for the Downtown Library, and outdoor art projects at Shadle Public Library and Liberty Park Public Library. Open to individual artists or artist teams. Submissions of interest and qualifications due by Wednesday. Spokane Arts Commission – Open call to artists and members of the community to apply for a three-year term as an art commissioner through the Spokane Arts Commission. Duties include, but are not limited to, serving on selection panels to select the next poet laureate, determining future exhibits for the Chase Gallery, distributing grant awards and more. Trackside Studio Ceramic Art Gallery – Call to artists to create and donate coasters for the November exhibit and fundraiser, Nov. 6-21. Coasters should be an original artwork created on a blank or recycled coaster that will be donated and sold for $10 each. Spokane Art School Artist-in-Residence – The SAS Artist-in-Residence Program will provide up to six months of free studio space in the facility at 811 W. Garland Ave., paid teaching opportunities during that time (provided enough students show interest in the class to make it economically feasible) and a gallery exhibit at the close of the residency all in the interest of encouraging regional artists to explore their talents in new and creative ways. First Friday – Seeking artists whose work is ready to show in nontraditional venues such as coffee shops, wineries and other downtown businesses during self-guided monthly art walks. Coeur d’Alene Art Grant Program – The three-year pilot program of the city of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission seeks to widen arts and cultural participation and its expression. The program provides support from $500 up to $1,000 for projects, opportunities and events proposed by individuals, groups, organizations or communities of interest that offer a potential arts or cultural impact in Coeur d’Alene. Spokane Fall Folk Festival – Online applications are being accepted for musicians, dancers and storytellers for the Spokane Fall Folk Festival at Spokane Community College from Nov. 14-15. Call for writers

Art Writers CdA – Seeking freelance writers with interest in the arts to craft editorial pieces around gallery and museum exhibitions, artists’ practices, artists biographies and art fair coverage.
