When the House of Representatives returns to Washington next week, the first order of business needs to be subpoenaing the USPS Board of Governors, lining them up like tobacco executives, and putting them under oath to explain why the USPS is dismantling sorting machines, removing mailboxes and restricting deliveries in the middle of a national emergency, shortly before a national election that everyone understands will result in record-breaking numbers of mail-in ballots.

Protecting the post office from sabotage will be a crucial test of your ability to put the needs of the country, the needs of our democracy, above any perceived short-term gains for a political party.

I pray that you will pass that test.
