I will help you vote!

Every four years – about three months prior to the election – there is a discussion about requiring identification when voting. The same group always decries it, saying that it is a tactic used by their opponents to keep “some” people from voting.

First, name one person who was kept from voting because of ID requirements. I don’t know of anyone in that category. Second, if you know someone who wouldn’t be able to vote because of ID, did you volunteer to help them become qualified? (It’s one thing to rant, but another to help.)

So … if there is anyone who needs to register to vote or get an ID in order to vote, and you need assistance (a ride) to get to the right office, contact me at (509) 808-3118. Democratic and Republican offices could probably help, too. Easy solution to a (perceived) problem. I think it’s more fable than reality.

I was in the military for 20-plus years. One reason: your solemn right/obligation to vote. (Notice: no restriction on how you will vote. I have my preference. I hope you have studied the issues and candidates. But, main issue: You must vote.)
