Actress Rebecca Hall and writer-director Lee Daniels explore their family roots in ‘‘Hidden in the Genes,’’ the Season 8 premiere of host Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s consistently absorbing deep dive into celebrity ancestries and family mysteries. ‘Judge Steve Harvey’
He’s hosted game shows, talk shows and beauty pageants, as well as starred in his own sitcom. Now Steve Harvey gets to play judge, jury and star of this unconventional new one-hour unscripted courtroom comedy. As in other court shows, real-life plaintiffs with real-life conflicts appear before ‘‘Judge Steve’’ to argue their cases. On this show, however, His Honor plays by his own rules, basing his rulings on his own life experiences and good old common sense. (TVPG) 8 p.m. on KXLY.
‘Gordon Ramsay’s Road Trip’
Host Gordon Ramsay wraps up his three road-trip specials with a final ‘‘Greek Vacation’’ entry, which finds him rejoining besties Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Greece, widely acknowledged as the cradle of civilization. The two-hour special takes the trio from the ancient ruins in Athens to Mykonos, a popular ‘‘party island’’ destination. At each stop in their itinerary, these buddies are determined to eat, drink and laugh their way through their time together. (TV14) 8 p.m. on KAYU.
‘FBI: International’
The team wastes no time rushing to Bulgaria after terrorists there demand a fortune in cryptocurrency as ransom for the safe release of a concert hall filled with multinational student performers and their parents in the new episode ‘‘One Kind of Madman.’’ Meanwhile, Forrester (Luke Kleintank) gets some news about Tank the dog, and Raines (Carter Redwood) is determined to assert his field skills. ‘This Is Us’
Birthdays have been a recurring theme on this Emmy-winning family drama, and the show’s sixth and final season opens with the so-called Big Three (Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley) celebrating their 41st such occasion. While fans already may be bracing themselves for the separation anxiety they know is coming, the producers are rolling out this final season without interruption, which means no pesky hiatuses. Even better, the cast members are assuring their social media followers that viewers will be left happy and satisfied by how things wrap up. (TV14) 9 p.m. on KHQ.
‘Black-ish’
This Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning family comedy series opens its eighth and final season with ‘‘That’s What Friends Are For,’’ which finds Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) yearning for more couples friends in their social circle. She manages to persuade a reluctant Dre (Anthony Anderson) to go with her to a political fundraising event, but he’s convinced any husbands attending will be boring duds. They’re pleasantly surprised, then, to discover Michelle Obama is the evening’s special guest, and shocked when the former first lady accepts a dinner invitation at their home. ‘FBI: Most Wanted’
Jess (Julian McMahon) and his team search for a young man who is attacking his targets with napalm-style bombs in the new episode ‘‘Incendiary.’’ On a more personal front, Jess and Sarah (recurring guest star Jen Landon) struggle to adjust to their empty nest now that Tali (YaYa Gosselin) is away. Sonnie Brown and Michael J. Harney also guest star; Roxy Sternberg and Miguel Gomez also are featured. (TV14) 10 p.m. on KREM.
