‘Notorious Queens’
In the new episode ‘‘Pole Dance & Pop Off,’’ Toni realizes her friendship with La’Britney may not be what it seems, so she sets out to confront her about it. Meanwhile, Mehgan has to make a hard choice when her manifestation list doesn’t have all her boxes checked. Later, the ladies take pole dancing lessons together, with some demonstrating a surprising affinity for this activity. (TV-14) 7 p.m. on WE.
‘That Girl Lay Lay’
Struggling to make her mark at school, Sadie (Gabrielle Nevaeh Green) starts to feel so lonely that she wishes Lay Lay, the avatar on her personal affirmation app, were a flesh-and-blood best friend. After Sadie officially makes that wish upon a star, her fantasy comes true in the form of a real companion (played by young rapper That Girl Lay Lay). The girls soon discover that together they can face any teen problem. Caleb Brown, Peyton Perrine III and Tiffany Daniels also star in this new comedy series. (TV-G) 7:30 p.m. on NICK.
‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’
This record-breaking crime drama returns for Season 23 with a two-hour premiere that starts as Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay) loyalty to Garland (Demore Barnes) is tested when the investigation into a sex-for-housing scheme expands in ‘‘And the Empire Strikes Back.’’ Ben Rappaport guest stars. Then, in ‘‘Never Turn Your Back on Them,’’ the search for a missing witness leads Fin and Kat (Ice-T, Jamie Gray Hyder) down a dangerous path, and Chief McGrath (guest star Terry Serpico) pressures Benson and Garland to secure a conviction. ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’
After taking down Wheatley’s (Dylan McDermott) drug empire and discovering the identity of his wife’s killer, Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) prepares to infiltrate a notorious crime family scheming to take over New York’s cocaine trade as Season 2 opens. Meanwhile, Sgt. Bell (Danielle Mone Truitt) is forced to work with a rival colleague when their investigations intersect. Ainsley Seiger guest stars. (TV-14) 10 p.m. on 6.1.
‘Kids Behind Bars: Life or Parole’
What could drive a teenage boy to kill his father? Justin Long was just 15 when he snapped one day after years of corporal punishment and violently murdered his adoptive father, Hoyt. His adoptive siblings paint Justin as an inherently disturbed and violent young man who isn’t fit to live in society at large. Justin, however, is pinning his hopes on getting a resentencing hearing and a chance to prove them all wrong. (TV-14) 9 p.m. on A&E.
‘The Hustler’
Host Craig Ferguson welcomes five new competitors to play this mind-bending and unpredictable show, in which the key to success lies in identifying and exposing which player is The Hustler. The other players will have to glean the information they need to do that from some of the clues provided to them. In the new episode ‘‘A Little of This, A Little of That,’’ those clues include coffee beans, sausage and the Goo-Goo Dolls. (TV-PG) 10 p.m. on 4.1.
