‘Trafficked With Mariana van Zeller’
The poverty-stricken favelas of Rio de Janeiro and the mountains of Colombia are considered hallowed ground to those inside the world of cocaine trafficking. ‘Animals With Cameras, A Nature Miniseries’
Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan teams up with some pioneering animal scientists to explore stories of animals lives as “told” by the critters themselves, via cameras that are custom-built to fit unobtrusively on the animals. In part one, “Oceans,” viewers are given a first-person look at the lives of ocean creatures including sharks, elephant seals, turtles and gannets. Part 2, “Australia,” airs Jan. 26. ‘NOVA’
While many people associate dinosaurs with a lush, humid prehistoric climate, the new episode “Alaskan Dinosaurs” follows a team of intrepid paleontologists as they examine evidence indicating that some dinosaurs once thrived in the cold, dark winter landscape of the Arctic Circle. How were these creatures able to survive on this turf year-round and successfully raise their young in this hostile environment? ‘Catfish: The TV Show’
After a year of online dating, Michael convinces Romeo to move to Atlanta to pursue their dream of being together. Now, in a new episode called “Romeo & Michael,” Romeo’s in Atlanta but Michael inexplicably won’t agree to meeting in person. Clearly, something is up, but hosts Yaniv “Nev” Schulman and Kamie Crawford are on the case in the Big Peach to help track down the elusive Michael. (TV14) 8 p.m. on MTV.
‘Home Inspector Joe’
In this new home improvement series, host and licensed home inspector Joe Mazza helps buyers evaluate potential home purchases, drawing on his keen eye and uncanny sixth sense when it comes to spotting subtle red flags that could mean a hidden problem. The series premiere, “This Mold House,” finds Joe and Noel Gatts, his designer of choice, touring two potential properties with clients Matt and Giovanna, identifying and fixing critical issues they find. Then, Noel opens up the home interior with a design that includes a budget-friendly kitchen. 9:01 p.m. on HGTV.
‘Leave It to Geege’
In the new “In the Doghouse,” Geege registers her “framily” to take a self-defense class that soon devolves into their traditional family fight night. Later, Tyler helps sharpen Geege’s ability to take the now-adult Pootie out by herself, while “Boner the Loaner” wreaks havoc on the household.
