Mazur Scholarship offered

Applications for the fourth annual Sandy Mazur Scholarship are open until April 30.

Open to anyone seeking secondary education including college, technical school or skilled training programs. To qualify, applicants must hold a GPA of 2.5 or above, be pursuing a continuing education program and must reside in a county with a Spherion office.

EVSD plans surplus sale

East Valley School District is holding a public surplus sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 18. Items included in the sale are tools, filing cabinets, furniture and more.

The sale will be at the Spokane Business and Industrial Park, Building 3, Unit 12, 3808 N. Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.

EV kindergarten signup March 1

East Valley School District kindergarten registration for the 2023-24 school year begins March 1 and continues through the end of the school year.

Incoming kindergartners must be 5 years old by Aug. 31. Parents or guardians should bring a certified birth certificate and immunization records to the neighborhood school their child will attend to register.

Rapid Rabbit Run set for March 19

The Rapid Rabbit Run, 10 a.m. March 19, is a fundraiser for East Valley High School’s senior “All-Knighter.”

Participants can compete in a 3- or 5 -mile run – the 5-mile run is a second-seed qualifier for Blooomsday. The run is at East Valley High School, 15711 E. Wellesley Ave., in Spokane Valley.

CVHS Jeans, Jewels Gala March 25

Tickets are available for Central Valley High School Bear Booster Club’s Jeans and Jewels Gala.

The gala will be March 25 at Mirabeau Park Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan Road, in Spokane Valley. Tickets are $60 and include dinner and entertainment by CV students.

The booster club is looking for donations for the silent and live auctions, including items like game tickets, hotel packages, theme baskets and trips. Donations should be made by Feb. 15.
