Manito Monument
The Esther Reed Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution recently completed the restoration of the Washington monument, the one in Manito Park, not the one in D.C., and the 1932 sandstone monument was erected in a new spot in Manito Park Thursday, June 4, 2009. Tresko Monument did the restoration, which included an image of George Washington and text noting that June 14, 1932 was the bicentennial of Washington's birth.
