Representatives of local Native tribes, along with biologists and fishery experts, released several hundred juvenile salmon, most radio-tagged so that they can be followed on their odyssey on their perilous journey down the Spokane River to the Columbia River. The tribes are hoping this is a step toward establishing long-gone salmon runs that once fed local tribes who fished in the region, including at this parcel of land along Latah Creek, south of Spokane, Washington.
