Episode 49: Matt Tansy and Friends

Matt Tansy started making a name around town as a solo acoustic act – playing Tuesday weeklies at Brooklyn Nights – until he plugged in his electric guitar and recruited his cousin, Aaron Rison, on bass. Mixing jazz, blues and rock influences, Tansy has slowly been building a beefier sound. He mixes it up with appearances from friends who sit in on his set or join him for the full evening. This show at Caterina features Tansy and Friends for the first time with a drummer. Tansy is a beast on the guitar, and the enhanced instrumentation allows him to really let loose on solos.
