Daily Briefing

Tap one more time

Weird noon meeting. It was a 4:30 meeting, except at noon.

Huh.

But there are exciting things coming. McClatchy newspapers has picked up excerpts of an NBC Matt Lauer interview with Larry Craig, which airs Tuesday night prime time. Maybe Craig will demonstrate, in a suit and tie of course, what he means by a "wide stance."

The staff in charge of wire stories (non-local stories e.g. taken from Associated Press and McClatchy newspapers) will be on the lookout for the latest on Larry Craig for tomorrow's A section.

Coming up

Stories are coming through and the Bulldog Edition deadline is getting closer. Tentative lineup for A1 includes a weather story about winter, a spotlight on Whitworth University's "East Africa Initiative," more Fred Russell trial coverage, and some very graphic anti-methamphetamine ads.

Each weekday morning and afternoon, the newsroom staff meets to discuss the coverage plan. This blog covers editors' discussions, upcoming coverage and miscellaneous newsroom news.
