Post Falls, ID (May16, 2009): Dave Garber (Spokane, WA) won the Inland Northwest Super Stock (INSSA) Super Late Model 100-lap main at Stateline Speedway on Saturday May 16th.
Shelby Thompson (Spokane, WA) finished 2nd followed by Jeff Fenton.

The 100-lap INSSA feature started with 13 cars taking the green on the high banked .25-mile oval. Rookie Andrew Zimmer (Spokane, WA) led the first 15 laps until Garber took over. Thompson moved up to 2nd and closed in on Garber’s lead. The two went side by side for over 15 laps with Thompson on the inside and Garber outside. They swapped leads every lap.

By lap 45 Thompson made the pass and finally started to pull away from Garber.
Garber fell back to 3rd behind Fenton while Thompson opened a large lead. Thompson ran into trouble when he caught side by side cars for position at the tail end of the lead lap. They held Thompson up while Fenton and Garber gained on the leader. One of the two spun bringing out the yellow on lap 83. It was deemed by INSSA officials that there was contact by Thompson causing the spin. Penalized to the tail end of the lead lap cars Thompson was sent back to 5th.  The lead went to Fenton until Garber was able to get by on lap 90. Thompson was able to move back to 2nd behind Garber at the finish.
