H-Bowl hopes to make announcement

Humanitarian Bowl executive director Kevin McDonald said this afternoon that he hopes to make an announcement on which WAC team will play in the game after this evening’s BCS selection show. It’s also possible that both teams for the Dec. 30 bowl in Boise could be announced. Asked how Vandal fans should feel at this point about their chances, he said, “I think they should feel pretty good. But until the really the BCS comes out, we’re going to have to wait.”

McDonald said next week’s Army-Navy game muddles the situation, particularly for 6-6 UCLA — a team that is on the H-Bowl’s “wish list.” UCLA has yet to make a decision on whether it wants to travel to Idaho. “We’ve talked to UCLA but it’s going to come down to a lot of factors. Some of the factors we can’t control, so we’re going to have to communicate with UCLA and try to build reason why they should come here and play.”
