Pac-10 now a Sunday product

COUGARS

Have a good Sunday, did you? Catch up on some sleep, dust the den, watch the Pro Bowl on the tube? Speaking of the Pro Bowl, did you see the quote we had on Page 2 of the sports section this morning? Someone asked Larry Fitzgerald if winning the Pro Bowl win eased the pain of losing the Super Bowl. “No, not one bit,” Fitzgerald said. Has to be one of the dumbest questions ever. Anyhow, lets move on to Pac-10 basketball. Read on.

• There was actually a Sunday Pac-10 game now that the NFL is over. And the Huskies made the most of it by snapping a long losing streak at Stanford. … For more from around the league, check out Nick Daschel’s post at Buster Sports and this one from the Oregonian. Remember, Tajuan Porter and the Ducks will be in Beasley on Thursday.

• On the football front, Daschel examines the star-ratings of recent Pac-10 recruits and once again shows how bogus the recruiting services can be. Also on the recruiting front, it’s official. Ferris High lineman Elliot Bosch, who I mentioned on the blog a few weeks ago, has been accepted into WSU. That allowed coach Paul Wulff to mention his name last week.

• That’s it for this morning. We’ll be back when news warrants. Till then …

If the Cougar D covers Tajuan Porter tomorrow night, a win will be guarenteed. He can be a hot 3 point shooter, and good shooter all-around. The Ducks are playing a really fast style now, so I hope the Cougs know that and are ready.
