With the summer in full burn-the-bottom-of-your-feet mode, we’re scheduled to cover the Spokane Indians for the next five days. But that doesn’t keep us from passing on the links we’ve found. No siree. Read on.

• Nick Daschel of Buster Sports was kind enough to pass along the Cougar-related pieces that he posted while we were on vacation, including this one rating WSU’s fight song the best in the Pac-10. As the days go by, we’ll pass along some of the others. … Andy Katz writes about the four Cougars who received international basketball experience this summer. … Ted Miller looks at Pac-10 recruiting and the not-so-surprising elements for Washington State this football season on his ESPN blog. … We’re sorry to report the demise of Garrett Riddle’s CougHoops.com.

I like the fight song list. anytime the Cougs can be #1 and the Huskies are 10 (last) in a pac-10 list. Its a good day!

Whats the story on Travis Jewitt leaving WSU Baseball and going to ASU as an assistant? We will miss his strong recruiting.

Bow wow to Washington ranked 10th. I couldn’t agree more.

I can think of no fight song that fits the mentality of any institution more than the “Bow down to Washington”. Saying nothing about themselves, just demanding that others show reverence to them. Classic I am better than you or anyone else mentality that has existed there forever.

And, it really works well when they are the worst team in college football.

I am one of the few who like the USC fightsong….I like SC bringing the band into martin.

I also like the Idaho fight song when they are rowdy.

I remember seeing an interview with Coach Tiller from Purdue, who said that after asisting at WSU, he always catches himself whistling the song at practices.
