I had to interrupt my attendance at Greater Spokane League football practices this week to do my 5A and 4A Inland Empire League football preview and glance.

Lake City and Coeur d'Alene, along with a handful of other teams, open their seasons this week.

My IEL preview package is scheduled to run Thursday.

If I had to pick a favorite right now in the GSL it would be difficult. Five of the six 4A schools are in the mix and you can't overlook 3A University and Mt. Spokane.

In the IEL, three of four 5A schools will challenge for the league title and Sandpoint and Moscow figure to battle for the 4A crown.

QUESTION: What do you see happening? In the Great Northern League, for example, Clarkston is poised to have its best season in years. In the Intermountain League, Timberlake and Bonners Ferry should challenge for the league title.
