Raul Vijil has returned from a serious knee injury suffered last June to be one of the team's most productive receivers -- again. That's nothing new for Vijil, who has been with the Shock since their first season in 2006, but the former Eastern Washington Eagle had to work his tail off just to be ready when training camp opened in February.

Here's more on Vijil's recovery from knee surgery.

And here are some notes that were trimmed from my story:

Spokane has several new faces at practice with LB Beau Bell, WR Adron Tennell and DL Jonathan Williams recently activated from injured reserve. “We purposely didn’t sign any new guys because we knew some guys were coming off IR,” head coach Rob Keefe said. “It’ll either be practice squad or active roster for those guys.” … LB Antwan Marsh, who missed the Kansas City game with a concussion, practiced Monday and Tuesday. …  K Taylor Rowan worked out for Omaha of the UFL on Monday.
