Some surprises in WSU football schedule
COUGARS
FROM OAKLAND -- The Pac-12 released its 2013 football schedule on Thursday, and it probably won't have Washington State fans jumping for joy. Read on.
...
You already knew WSU's nonconference opponents, so the suspense involved in the schedule release was really only in finding out what days the games will be played. But there's an added twist for WSU. Instead of playing the Seattle Game against Oregon State, as was assumed, the Cougars will move their Sept. 28 game against defending Rose Bowl champion Stanford to CenturyLink Field. And WSU's season finale at Washington will again be played the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday, Nov. 29 in the renovated Husky Stadium. The schedule includes a Thursday game, too. It's an Oct. 31 matchup with Arizona State. Yes, a Halloween night game in Pullman. But that's one of just three Pac-12 games the Cougars play in Pullman this season. ... There isn't likely to be as much talk of a fast start as there was last year. The Cougars open at Auburn on Aug. 31, then open Pac-12 play the next week with a trip to USC. ... No times have been announced for any of the games.
