The Vox Box

Countdown to J.K.’s New Book…

Mentioned in the last installment of the Harry Potter series, The Tales of Beadle the Bard, is coming to life - planned to be released this year.

Only seven copies of this book had been originally produced, all handwritten and illustrated by author J.K. Rowling herself. On July 31 the accouncement rang true that the general 'muggle population' of the UK, Canada, and the United States would be able to get their hands on a copy December 4 of this year.

"Royalties [of the book] will be donated to the Children's High Level Group, to benefit institutionalised children in desperate need of a voice," author Rowling explains.

Anyone out there awaiting the arrival of this one? What's YOUR favorite of the Harry Potter series?

In 2006, then-editor Steve Smith of The Spokesman-Review had the idea of starting a publication for an often forgotten audience: teenagers. The Vox Box was a continuation of the Vox, an all-student staffed newspaper published by The Spokesman-Review. High school student journalists who staffed the Vox made all content decisions as they learn about the trade of journalism. This blog's mission was to give students an opportunity to publish their voices. The Vox Box and the Vox wrapped up in June 2009, but you can follow former staffers' new blog at http://voxxiez.blogspot.com.
