Love story: Donn and Dude Thompson
The Thompsons will celebrate their 70th anniversary on April 6. Donn served in the Marines during WWll and his sister was in a sorority with Dude at the U of I. When Dude saw his picture, she said she'd like to meet him and his sister told her to starting writing to him-- which she did. She met him in person for the first time when he got off a plane at Felts Field. "I looked at him and fell Iinlove," she said.
