Eagles on Lake CdA 2014-2015

The bald eagles that show up annually at Lake Coeur d'Alene provide a popular wildlife-viewing attraction as the birds are lured to the northeast corner of the lake from mid-November into January to feast on the spawning kokanee that stack up in the bay. Upload your photos here and we'll display them online while the eagles are here.

Great light - Check. Really Fast Shutter Speed - Check. Sharp Focus - Check. Eagle showing off its face instead of its tail feathers - Check. Photographer finally didn't choke and freak out at the sight of an approaching bald eagle in his viewfinder - Check. After many years of trying, it all came together on this series of shots at Wolf Lodge Bay on Lake Couer d' Alene.

"Sunday Brunch." This was taken the morning of December 7th at Higgens Point. I was feeling lens envy as I passed by several professional photographers with large, telescoping equipment when this critter flew up to a branch next to me. I was able to capture this fisherman up close and personal with my point-and-shoot camera.
