Baroque Series: Venice: The Magical City
March 17-18. The Spokane Symphony will relish some of the best-loved works from the Baroque period set in the splendor of Spokane’s historic churches. Journey to the Republic of Venice at the height of its glory. Enjoy music written for both sacred and secular settings by Viennese composers, including two who influenced Bach– Albinoni and Vivaldi. Conducted by Eckart Preu; Mateusz Wolski, violin, and Spokane Symphony Chorale. Two performances, Saturday at 7 p.m. at Westminster Congregational Church, 411 S. Washington St.; Sunday at 3 p.m. at Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 15515 E 20th Ave., Spokane Valley.
