UnitedHealthcare’s Small Steps Program

UnitedHealthcare is helping people make positive changes in their eating habits with the Small Steps Program. Providing access to healthy food and changing people’s eating habits and attitudes toward food isn’t easy. This summer, individuals who meet with a participating provider in their community will receive a voucher for a local farmers market where they can pick up a bag of fresh produce from UnitedHealthcare with recipes and food preparation information. Dates include: Emerson-Garfield Farmer’s Market (2310 N. Monroe St., 3-5 p.m.): Aug. 11 and 18; Sept. 1 and 8. Chewelah Farmer’s Market (Chewelah City Park, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m.): Aug. 18 and 25; Sept. 8, 15 and 29. Northeast Washington Farmer’s Market (Main and Astor, Colville, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.): Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26; Sept. 2, 9, 13 and 23. Fairwood Farmer’s Market (319 W. Hastings Road, 3-7 p.m.): Aug. 8 and 29; Sept. 19. Spokane Farmer’s Market (20 W. 5th Ave., 8 a.m.-1 p.m.): Aug. 5, 12, 26 and 30; Sept. 16, 27 and 30. Millwood Farmer’s Market (8910 E. Dalton Ave., Millwood, 3-7 p.m.): Aug 9 and 23; Sept. 6, 13 and 20. South Perry Farmer’s Market (924 S. Perry St., 3-7 p.m.): Aug. 10; Sept. 7.
