“Smoke Signals”
Released in 1998 and directed by Chris Eyre with a screenplay by Sherman Alexie, this film is based on a short story from Alexie’s book “The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven.” Two young men from the Coeur D’Alene Indian Reservation, Victor and Thomas, leave for Phoenix to retrieve the remains of Victor’s father. This program is part of the Library’s celebration of Native American Heritage Month.
