Community Conversation with Mick Cornett
The Spokane Regional Transportation Council (SRTC) is bringing former Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett to Spokane. Named one of “The World’s 50 Greatest Leaders” for 2018 by FORTUNE Magazine, Cornett has been recognized internationally and received multiple awards for work to revitalize his city. He implemented a $777 million infrastructure program that added a downtown park, streetcar system, convention center and wellness centers. Cornett also oversaw a $140 million redesign of streets and sidewalks. Under his leadership, Oklahoma City has one of the strongest economies and lowest unemployment rates in the nation. Mr. Cornett will address how the Spokane area can continue investing to reach similar results. Discussion will take place in Jepson Hall.
