An Evening with Kris Tompkins: “Paying our Rent to Earth”
Kristine McDivitt Tompkins leads Tompkins Conservation, creating national parks in Chile and Argentina, restoring wildlife, inspiring activism, and fostering economic vitality as a result of conservation. Kris and her late husband Douglas Tompkins - who died in 2015 - are considered the most ambitious and successful national park-oriented philanthropists in history. After business careers with iconic American clothing brands—Kris as longtime CEO of Patagonia Inc, and Doug as co-founder of The North Face and Esprit—they changed the course of their lives more than 25 years ago to commit their funds, time and passion to biodiversity conservation.
