Introduction to Creating Batik Art
Spokane artist Nicholas Sironka leads students in a hands-on introduction to the origin of Batik art (the alternating application of hot wax and cold-water dyes on fabric) and how to apply the technique to creating art. The workshop is appropriate for people of all ages and is designed to not only broaden understanding of Batik art, but also, explain the differences between “tie and dye” and the Batik painting process. Materials provided.
