Previously owned a small weekly newspaper in Tekoa, Washington, the Standard Register, as well as a newspaper called the Country Neighbor.
Political experience: Served as Tekoa Park and Recreation Commission chairman, 1989-95
Family: Married to Miriam Flock. Has five children.
Campaign finance: Reported no contributions and has pledged not to raise more than $7,000.
