Shiites are making their annual pilgrimage to Karbala to mark the end of 40 days of mourning following the anniversary of the seventh century death of Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. A female suicide bomber attacked a tent filled with women and children resting from a pilgrimage to Karbala on Friday, killing 40 people and injuring 60 others, said officials.
