Pakistani doctors treat patients at a hospital after an earthquake hit, in Peshawar, Pakistan, Monday, Oct. 26, 2015. One of Afghanistans most isolated and poverty-stricken regions was hit by a massive earthquake on Monday that reverberated across Asia, shaking buildings from Kabul to New Delhi, cutting power and communications, and killing almost 200 people, mostly in the remote mountain regions near the Afghan-Pakistan border. The number of casualties on both side of the border was expected to rise.

Yemen has been embroiled in fighting between Houthis and allied army units against forces loyal to the internationally recognized government as well as southern separatists and other militants. The conflict gained international attention when the Houthis took over the capital, Sanaa, in September last year, and escalated in March as a Saudi-led coalition started launching airstrikes against Houthi positions.

Israeli soldiers lift a wounded Palestinian man in Hebron, Monday, Oct. 26, 2015. The Israeli army said its forces shot a Palestinian who tried to stab an Israeli soldier near a sensitive holy site in the West Bank city of Hebron. The army says the stabbing attack took place Monday near a site known to Jews as the Cave of the Patriarchs and to Muslims as the Ibrahimi Mosque, the traditional burial spot of the biblical Abraham and his family.
