Maria Cantwell as a Republican. The Gibson event was canceled saying on social media that the reason was a family emergency. Steve Hoffman, another underdog Senate candidate from the Freedom Socialist Party, said he believed Gibson canceled because he was "spooked by all the opposition he's getting, and he's finding out that Spokane is not such a fertile recruiting ground for his far-right extremist views."
