Then and Now: The Lang Building
The Lang Building, also called the Washington Building, Washington Hall or the Harmonia Hall, wasn't an architectural highlight of downtown Spokane, but it was notable as one of the first homes for the Grand Army of the Republic, the fraternal organization for veterans of the Civil War.

1980 – The shell of the Lang Building, built in 1891, is gutted here and possibly awaiting the wrecking ball, but the old building was eventually renovated and remodeled around 1985. Recently, it has housed a restaurant and a bar in the ground floor.

2019 – The 1891 Lang Building at 115 N. Washington St. in downtown Spokane, has housed many retailers, cafes and other businesses over the years, but the upstairs rooms were first built as the home of the Grand Army of the Republic, the fraternal organization for Civil War veterans from the northern states. The building has also been called the Washington Building, Washington Hall and Harmonia Hall.
