Kinman Business University
CPA J.I. Kinman and a partner started teaching accounting and bookkeeping in 1917 and it became Kinman Business University in 1926. From the early 1930s until the late 1960s, the school was in the Kroll Building at the corner of Howard and First Avenue in downtown Spokane.

1936 - From the 1920s to the late 1960s, Kinman Business University, a private vocational school, was in the Kroll Building, formerly called the Merriam Block, at the southwest corner of Howard Street and First Avenue.

2019 - An office tower, now called the Wells Fargo Building, was built for Farm Credit Banks on the block bounded by First Avenue, Howard Street and Wall Street in 1982. It replaced the Merriam Block, later called the Kroll Building, torn down in 1980.
