Greg Soumokil pets his dog Duchess in his home shop Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his Spokane Valley home. He was the first heart patient to leave Sacred Heart and live at home with an artificial heart while he waited for a transplant of a heart and a kidney and has spent his time at home and in recovery doing crafts in his tiny shop. Now on the mend after organ transplants this past fall, he hopes to keep busy with his crafts and check off some of his bucket list items, which include boating and traveling.
