Summary

Nathan Grinalds bagged the winner 8 minutes from time and host Central Valley slipped past Eastmont 2-1 on Saturday in a nonleague boys soccer game. Grinalds tracked down a long ball after beating a defender and slotted a shot past Wildcat goalie Alonso Martinez, who had come off his line. Senior forward Miguel Naves opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after shedding two defenders with a clever turn in the box to create the space for his shot. Eastmont's Hernan Mendoza leveled the game 13 minutes after halftime with a 25-yard screamer that left Bears goalkeeper Andrew Enzler with no chance. Enzler finished with 6 saves in the game, Martinez had 8.
