Curtis defeated host Central Valley in State 4A tournament first round game on Tuesday. After going scoreless through regulation and two overtimes, Curtis found the net on all five of its shootout attempts to get the win and advance to the state quarterfinals.

After being locked in a midfield battle for 87 minutes, Central Valley finally had a breakthrough on a long throw-in as Brock Benzel scored the game's only goal in the second overtime as the Bears defeated Pasco 1-0. With the win Central Valley is the Regional champion next play in the first round of state. Pasco will host Ferris to determine the second seed to state.
