Summary

Madison Malet led the Gorillas in the pitchers circle and in the batters box as Davenport rallied past Springdale with 9 runs in the seventh inning for an 18-16 District 7 2B softball win on Tuesday at Merkel Field. Malet went 3 for 5 at the plate with two RBIs and threw four innings in relief to pick up the win. Sofie Halverson went 3 for 6 with 6 RBIs for the Gorillas. Senita Lavulavu hit two home runs for Springdale. Davenport (15-8) earned the third seed to regionals at Pasco on Saturday and will open at 11 a.m. against Asotin (12-11).
