Madison Malet led the Gorillas in the pitchers circle and in the batters box as Davenport rallied past Springdale with 9 runs in the seventh inning for an 18-16 District 7 2B softball win on Tuesday at Merkel Field. Malet went 3 for 5 at the plate with two RBIs and threw four innings in relief to pick up the win. Sofie Halverson went 3 for 6 with 6 RBIs for the Gorillas. Grace Lilje had a strong pitching and hitting performance as Davenport downed Liberty 15-3 in the District 7 2B playoffs at Colfax on Tuesday. Lilje went 2-4 at the plate with four RBI and also struck out six while pitching a complete game. Davenport moved on to play Colfax on Tuesday night, while Liberty will face Lind-Ritzville/Sprague next Tuesday.
