Summary

Jackie Lucas had three hits, including her sixth home run, and four RBIs to lead East Valley (15-7) to an 8-7 softball win over visiting Cheney (12-11) in a loser-out District 7 2A game on Tuesday. Rachel Wilson had two hits and three RBIs for the Knights. Cheney scored three runs in the top of the seventh, but the rally ended when a Blackhawks base runner was called out for interference as East Valley's shortstop was attempting to field the ball. The tourney continues Saturday at Colville as the top-seeded Indians (19-2) play Deer Park (14-7) at noon for a berth to state. The loser will then meet EV for the second spot to state.
