Mead bounced back from a 15-point halftime deficit, using a 17-0 run to close out the third quarter, and the Panthers held off the visiting Central Valley Bears 56-50 in a Greater Spokane League girls basketball game Friday.

Sue Winger made 6 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter to propel the Panthers (7-4, 6-3). She finished with a team-high 17 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots.
