Summary

Jaya Allen struck out 12 and Shadle Park took advantage of Mt. Spokane's shaky defense to defeat the host Wildcats 7-4 in a Greater Spokane League opener. Mt. Spokane starter Kimber Tutt checked the Highlanders on two singles, but Shadle's infield defense committed seven errors. Allen, protecting a 4-3 lead, allowed Hannah Bell’s double and walked Kaitlyn Zemke to open the bottom of the sixth. She struck out three of the next four batters to end the threat. Allen also recorded the game's final out with a strikeout with Wildcats on second and third. Jadeyn Cronn's two-out, two-run single in the third allowed Mt. Spokane to tie the score at 3.
