Summary

Jaya Allen outdueled Kelsey Gumm in a pitchers duel Friday, as Shadle Park topped host Central Valley 2-0.

Allen struck out 15 in a five-hit shutout shutout. Gumm also gave up only five hits and struck out 11. She surrendered only one earned run, a solo shot by Laurie Jones in the sixth. The Highlanders also pushed across an unearned run in the first as they improved to 3-0 on the season.
