Summary

Two late goals propelled host Central Valley to a 2-0 defeat over Lewis and Clark in a GSL barnburner on Friday.

The two schools, predicted to finish 1-2 in the league by The Spokesman-Review, both entered the match on winning streaks. The Bears appeared to grab the lead in the first half following a corner kick, but the goal was disallowed because of a foul in the box.

CV finally took the lead in the 66th minute when J.D. Hauenstein volleyed in Brian Choate's cross. The Tigers answered by peppering the Bears' goal with shots, but they couldn't get anything past keeper Andrew Enzler.

The Bears sealed the win with another goal on a counter-attack three minute from full time, as Noah Whitman converted a pass from R.J. Stretch.

CV improves to 5-0, and has conceded just two goals this season. LC sits at 5-2.
